Wedding Dress Hire

Maybe it’s the credit crunch, maybe it’s the just good sense, and wedding dress hire is on the increase. The hire of outfits for the purpose of either a traditional Church wedding with a horse drawn carriage or maybe a big pink limousine and a civil ceremony with a disco and band, used to be mainly for the men of the party.

It seems that the potential wives are getting very savvy indeed and are seeking out the perfect dress, checking out the prices that can be charged for this perfect wedding dress of their dreams and aspirations and thinking is it really worth all that money just for that one although very special day. In fact, the average length of time that most brides will spend in that dress will only be about six or seven hours. When worked out per hour – that can be a shocking hourly rate.

Faced with either paying for an expensive dress OR having a honeymoon in the Maldives, many would have to wonder how much value they get from the dress, if it was bought rather than hired. To some people the only way to get the dress of their dreams would be to look to a wedding dress hire outlet; otherwise it would always be out of their price range.

Weddings are expensive by their very nature, just calling flowers, flowers is fine when your at home – just wait till you get to the shop, mention the big ‘W’ and all of a sudden you’ve been moved to different part of the shop and are looking at much bigger prices for what are essentially the same thing, flowers. Maybe just arranged in different way and maybe into balls, bunches, bouquets but the inflation in prices once the ‘W’ has been mentioned is truly eye watering.

Perhaps the same can be said about the dress. Wedding dress hire is making up so much ground so quickly that perhaps now that the flow of credit has been restricted a little, the credit card is being used for the borrowing of a dress and not so much the buying.

Other possible reasons could come from other slightly more worrying statistics, like the one for average waist sizes over the years, the fact that the brides mothers probably had a much smaller overall frame that their daughters have now could rule out the possibility of the daughter wearing the dress that their mother got married in as she is not as dainty as her mother was.

Whatever the reasoning for a bride choosing wedding dress hire over outright purchase, one thing is for sure, it wont make one bit of difference to how special she we feel on the day she gets married.
